Quotes & Sayings

Here is a listing of some quotes and sayings that I like and have collected over the years. These are not my writings, I’ve seen or heard them in one place or another and am listing the source if known. Some of these are plaques on my walls or magnets on the frig. I started collecting magnets after Ken and I got married to cover all the scratches on the freezer and refrigerator doors lol.

Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is a mystery.
Today is a gift, that’s why we call it the present.
~ my dad, Don Miller

If not for stress, I’d have no energy at all!

A friend is someone who knows all about you and loves you anyway.

Our family is like the branches of a tree.
We may grow in different directions yet our roots remain as one.
Each of us will always be a part of the other.

“The flowers of Yorkshire are like the women of Yorkshire. Every stage of their growth has its own beauty, but the last phase is always the most glorious. Then very quickly they all go to seed. Which makes it ironic my favourite flower isn’t even indigenous to the British Isles, let alone Yorkshire. I don’t think there’s anything on this planet that more trumpets life that the sunflower. For me that’s because of the reason behind its name. Not because it looks like the sun but because it follows the sun. During the course of the day, the head tracks the journey of the sun across the sky. A satellite dish for sunshine. Wherever light is, no matter how weak, these flowers will find it. And that’s such an admirable thing. And such a lesson in life.” ~ Calendar Girls

“Regrets are a waste of time. They’re the past crippling you in the present.”
~ Under the Tuscan Sun

“It’s not the burdens of everyday that drive men mad.
It is the regret of yesterday and the fear of tomorrow.
Regret and fear are twin thieves that rob us of today.” ~ Unknown

“…that’s our lot in life. It’s not a lot, but it’s our life.” ~ A Bug’s Life

“The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or
even touched. They must be felt with the heart.” ~ Helen Keller

“Excuse the mess but we live here.” ~ Roseanne

A house is made with brick and stone, a home is made with love alone.

The kitchen is the heart of the home.

Love one another.

Hang in there.

The Partnership of Marriage
The partnership of marriage begins when man and wife
Join hands and hearts together and start to share a life.
But through the years that follow, though they be very sweet,
without the Lord’s own blessing, somehow, life’s incomplete.
For He’s the Unseen Partner who makes a marriage strong,
Who renews hope brings love and faith when things go right or wrong.
And marriage bonds are strengthened as with a golden cord
When two can build their marriage as partners of the Lord.

Happiness is being married to your best friend.

I’ve got a funny feeling we missed a page or two somehow.
Oh, Cinderella maybe you could help us out?
Does the shoe fit you now?” ~ Suzy Bogguss
