Daughters

To a father growing old nothing is dearer than a daughter. – Euripides

And daddy was blessed with two! This photo was taken eight months ago on June 9 when dad could still sit up and use a wheelchair. He was in the hospital for hospice respite which was also a time for medical staff to observe him and make necessary adjustments to his medications to limit his pain try to keep the dementia manageable. My sister Terrah arrived to visit while I was already visiting. We took him for a stroll in the long decorated hallways between the hospital and clinic so it did not feel so institutional like. He was happy to get out of his room for awhile. I believe this is the last photo of the three of us in which dad’s eyes are open and looking at the camera. He was always amazed at how small little cell phones could do so much. Dad was always so cute.
